What Our Employees Say
Wondering what it's really like to work at Midwest Metal Products? Our employees have a lot to say!
Working at Midwest Metal Products has allowed me so many opportunities to become a valued and more well-rounded operator. I have had the chance to cross-train in several different areas, and they take the time to help you build on your strengths and further your abilities.
MMP is also very family-oriented as well as wellness-driven. They go above and beyond in these areas for ALL employees. They genuinely care for their employees, which is what makes it so easy to get up and come into work every morning. Coming into a place where you know you are valued and appreciated makes a huge difference.
Coming to MMP was a huge career change for me, and as I continue to grow here at MMP I know that it was a change I will never regret.
— Brandis Wieditz-Jarr, seven years of service
I came to MMP after working at a large company. I am thankful for the time I spent there. I learned a lot about manufacturing and quality. However, I felt that it didn't really matter what I did there. It was a union shop and a person could "just get by" quite easily. There was no incentive to do your best and work hard.
I got layed off in 1983 and got hired at MMP as a press brake operator. I can remember being impressed by how hard the employees worked. It didn't take me long to find out that it did matter what you did at MMP. Because of my hard work, I have been given many opportunities over the years. It is a place where your efforts are rewarded.
I have found that this company cares about its employees on a personal level. They realize that employees are the most important resource. They offer many programs to help you become more healthy. The management works hard to provide you with the best benefits available.
I did get called back from layoff at the large company. It was a tough decision but I turned them down. It has turned out to be one of the best decisions I have made.
